The Legal Project offers FREE half-hour consultations with qualified attorneys on a variety of legal issues, including landlord tenant disputes, labor and employment issues, disabilities, civil rights, immigration, and discrimination. All consultations take place in a confidential setting.

Young Adults in Recovery

The mission of the Northeast New York Prevention Cooperative is to build capacity among agencies, communities, and coalitions to provide effective prevention services for the people of the 15-county region. The 15 counties are: Albany, Clinton, Columbia, Essex, Franklin, Fulton, Greene, Hamilton, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Warren, and Washington. Past initiatives include prescription drug takeback events, Parents Who Host Lose the Most media campaigns, and Sticker Shock campaigns, in which SADD club members place stickers about the legal penalties for buying alcohol for minors on six-packs and cases of beer at regional retail stores.

Risk and Responsibility Class

This one-session class is designed to help youth and young adults understand the risks and consequences of their actions. The class is intended for youth aged 14-21 receiving moving traffic violations, possession of alcohol or marijuana, disorderly conduct or similar legal charges, as well as students receiving short suspensions from school.

Vocation Education Services for Individuals with Disabilities (VESID)

The Prevention Council allows certain organizations to provide a service to the public in the agency conference room. On the 3rd Wednesday of each month, a VESID coordinator conducts an orientation for individuals with disabilities who are seeking employment in the agency conference room. Everyone who attends this session must PRE-REGISTER by calling 1800-272-5448. Please note, the orientation begins at 9 a.m. sharp. Anyone who arrives late will need to reschedule their session.
