This
training will focus on relationships -- which are healthy and
which are not. During this day-long workshop we will look at
the importance of relationships, how good communication is key;
warning signs and control issues that contribute to unhealthy
relationships; setting limits and boundaries; and most of all,
to become aware that the most important relationship is with
oneself.
The
goal of this training is to provide participants with an
understanding of how relationships develop, what’s healthy,
what’s not; and ways to have happier and healthier ones in our
personal as well as professional lives.
Objectives:
Upon
completion of this training participants will be able to:

List
at least three essential ingredients in a healthy relationship
-
Recognize the warning signs indicating an unhealthy
relationship

Identify symptoms of co-dependency
-
Learn how counter-transference can impact on the client/human
service worker
-
Describe the impact counter-transference can have on you as a
human service provider and others
-
Understand the importance of boundaries and setting limits
About the presenters:
Marie MacPherson, BS, CASAC, CPP,
was
Coordinator of Community Education for The Prevention Council
for over 15 years and recently retired. She has over 18 years of
experience in the field of addictions, has developed,
implemented, and facilitated numerous prevention programs for
professionals, as well as being a parenting educator.
Joanna Albertson, BHS, CASAC,
has over 20 years experience working in the Human Services
field. She was employed by Saratoga Co. Alcoholism & Substance
Abuse Services for 16 years as a counselor/therapist/educator.
For the past 10 years she has been conducting educational
programs in the community, as well as offering women’s retreats
in the Capital District.

0727 and 0737, and is acceptable for meeting CASAC/CPP/CPS
education and training requirements for six (6) credit hours.
