This training will focus on relationships -- which are healthy and which are not.  During this  day-long workshop we will look at the importance of relationships, how good communication is key; warning signs and control issues that contribute to unhealthy relationships; setting limits and boundaries; and most of all, to become aware that the most important relationship is with oneself.

The goal of this training is to provide participants with an understanding of how relationships develop, what’s healthy, what’s not; and ways to have happier and healthier ones in our personal as well as professional lives.

Objectives:

Upon completion of this training participants will be able to:

  • List at least three essential ingredients in a healthy relationship

  • Recognize the warning signs indicating an unhealthy relationship

  • Identify symptoms of co-dependency

  • Learn how counter-transference can impact on the client/human service worker

  • Describe the impact counter-transference can have on you as a human service provider and others

  • Understand the importance of boundaries and setting limits
