December 7, 2011: Student Panel on Alcohol and Substance Use
What: A Student Panel will be assembled to answer questions regarding alcohol and other drug usage in the Shenendehowa School District. Students will answer a list of questions and will be open to questions from the audience. Discussion will also take place about social host legislation. (See link above.)
When: Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at 7 p.m.
Where: Shenendehowa East High School Library
Who: The Shenendehowa Community Coalition is partnering with the Shenendehowa PTA to offer this program. The evening will feature Shen youth and is hosted by Evan Williamson, the Coalition Coordinator.
Why: Teens living in our area face very real pressures. This event will go beyond the surveys and statistics to explore the issues teens face every day. A diverse group of high school-aged youth will share their thoughts on the prevalence of substances like alcohol and marijuana, how kids get access, and how parents can make a difference in their child's decisions. No matter how old their children are, parents will find this panel to be an eye-opening experience.
