Research has shown that sending consistent messages throughout various
sectors of a community is the best way to impact whether young
people decide to use substances. That's why collaborations among schools, parents, local government, community leaders,
religious organizations and other concerned organizations have
become so important.
The Prevention Council is involved in various efforts at getting
this message out into our communities. These efforts include
trainings for health and human service professionals,
presentations at area schools and colleges, and parenting
education courses. Prevention Council staff often respond to the
specific needs of diverse community groups, so feel free to call
for information about other educational topics.
