COMMUNITY COALITIONS
A community coalition is a group of community partners who come together from different organizations in order to work toward a shared goal. The Prevention Council serves as the umbrella organization for three area coalitions: The Southern Adirondack Tobacco-Free Coalition, the Saratoga Partnership for Prevention, and the Shenendehowa Community Coalition.
The Saratoga Partnership for Prevention is a coalition of community leaders, organizations, and citizens interested in decreasing youthful substance use, supporting families through the teen years, developing better relationships between youth and adults, and building family and community norms against drug use in the upstate New York community of Saratoga Springs. For more information, contact Maureen Cary at 518-581-1230.
The Shenendehowa Community Coalition works to reduce and prevent risky behaviors among youth, such as substance abuse, violence and problem gambling, by developing community partnerships that utilize accurate data and implement proven strategies. For more information, contact Evan Williamson at 518-581-1230.
The Southern Adirondack Tobacco Free Coalition (SATFC) is a grassroots coalition of local agencies and individuals committed to creating a tobacco-free environment. For more information, contact Janine Stuchin at 518-581-1230.
